The People’s Democratic Party, PDP has said women will receive 35% of all appointments when the party takes over the mantle of leadership.
PDP gubernatorial candidate, Mustapha Sule Lamido stated this on Saturday at the inauguration of the State’s Women Wing of the PDP Campaign held in Gumel, Jigawa State.
He said women have greater roles to play in the development of any meaningful society.
According to him “the initiative is a testimony of how important we take the affairs of women and the role they will play in our administration if elected”
“We shall reserve 35% of all appointments in our administration to women in addition to other special interventions for them” Lamido stated.
“As we have stated severally, we intend to give free education to the girl child in the whole of Jigawa State and free antenatal care for women especially those in the rural areas”
“We shall also take all issues regarding the welfare and development of women and all other vulnerable groups with the utmost seriousness”
Chairperson of the wing, Fauzziyya Mustapha Sule Lamido however, urged women to come out en mass and vote out the ruling All Progressive Congress APC in 2023.
