A significant number of fans without tickets broke into the O2 Academy Brixton, forcing Nigerian Afro-beat singer Asake to end his sold-out concert.
Sources claim that on Thursday night, four persons suffered serious injuries, and four more ended up in hospitals.
This event happened as uninvited spectators broke through the South London venue’s door, forcing the sold-out show to end in the middle.
Police and other emergency services were dispatched to the O2 Academy in Brixton at 9:35pm after receiving reports that “a large number of people were trying to force admission to the event.”
When they arrived, they discovered several victims with what they suspected to be crushing injuries. According to the Metropolitan Police Department, detectives are looking into the events that resulted in four people suffering critical injuries.
“Two less gravely hurt individuals were treated on the site, and the eight further patients were transported by ambulance to the hospital.”
The Met reported that no arrests have been made.
Four patients are in serious condition as a result of this exceedingly distressing tragedy, according to Commander Ade Adelekan.
To determine precisely what occurred yesterday night, a police inquiry has been opened, and it will be as comprehensive and rigorous as is required.
However, he made an appeal for anyone with information to come forward. He added that specialized officers will examine the scene and CCTV.
