APC Taraba: We are on our feet, nobody would push us out – Ex-minister, Mamman

The former Minister of Power, Saleh Mamman has reiterated his readiness to remain in the All Progressives Congress (APC), and fight for justice to prevail.

He stated this on Tuesday in Jalingo, the state capital while having an interactive session with his supporters.

The party has since been divided by crisis following the nullification of the candidacy of Senator Emmanuel Bwacha as the party’s flag bearer by a Federal High Court.

Mamman, who was one of the numerous aggrieved guber aspirants of the party said rather than dumping the party, he will stay back to fight the injustice that has characterized the party.

Arguing that there was no governorship primary election in the state, as speculated, he said the court’s decision to order a fresh primary was the best for the party.

Vowing to work round the clock to halt Emmanuel Bwacha from hijacking the party, he said “we are on our feet, nobody would push us out. He was in another party before joining the APC just recently.”

Urging his supporters to remain firm, he said, as we are fighting from the top, stay prepared and wait for instructions from the party regarding the method of primaries that would be decided, either by voting or consensus.

“We started the struggles since APP, ANPP, AC, and now APC, so no intruder would come one night and say he is the governorship candidate of our party.”

While appealing to the party’s faithful to remain united, he said all the five aggrieved governorship aspirants of the party are collectively working together as one formidable team.

For the much-desired justice to be achieved in the party, he called on the leadership of the party to endeavour to abide by the court ruling by conducting a fresh primary for those seeking the governorship ticket of the party.

The two-weeks ultimatum earlier issued out to the party by the Federal High court to conduct the fresh guber primary in the state elapsed Tuesday, DRILOGIST reports.

At the time of filing this report, Bwacha and his team of legal luminaries have appealed the court ruling.
