Chelsea midfielder, Conor Gallagher says he could not believe team-mate Mateo Kovacic scored a screamer against Red Bull Salzburg in the Champions League on Tuesday.
The Blues beat the stubborn Austrians 2-1 in front of their home fans to book their place in the last 16 of the Competition.
Gallagher earned his first start in the competition as the Blues ended Salzburg’s 40-game unbeaten home run.
Chelsea themselves remain unbeaten since Graham Potter replaced Thomas Tuchel in September.
Kovacic fired Chelsea ahead as his classy strike from the edge of the area seemed to catch everyone unaware.
“It’s a great finish, huh?’ Gallagher told BT Sport.
“I couldn’t believe it to be honest! To get that first goal is very important. It definitely helped us out.
“It gave us more confidence in the game. It’s a great finish, nice one brother!”
