Senator Mohamed Ahmed Makarfi, a chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has opined that Nigerians are living in frustration in the midst of plenty.
Making his observation when he accompanied the Kaduna State PDP Governorship candidate, Isa Ashiru, to a meeting with the Christian clergymen under the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), the Muslim Ummahs and the Southern Kaduna People’s Union (SOKAPU), the former governor of the State appealed to the members of the PDP, stakeholders and Nigerians to unite and deliver themselves from the present predicament by voting the ruling party out of office in the 2023 elections in the country.
The former governor enjoined Nigerians to vote for the PDP presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar and the Kaduna State PDP gubernatorial candidate, Isa Ashiru into office next year.
According to Senator Makarfi, “Any party that does not respect the nation’s diversities, particularly religious differences, must not be allowed to rule the country or State.”
For Nigerians to save themselves from the APC government, he suggested that the electorate should not allow themselves to be deceived under the guise of religion to make a wrong choice.
On Kaduna State PDP gubernatorial candidate, the PDP chieftain assured that one would not find Isa Ashiru lacking in terms of equity and fairness, believing that he deserves the support of the people to reposition the State from its present polarized state.
He reiterated that there is so much frustration in the land and the only way to bring it to an end is to get it right on the first ballot, adding that deceit was used in the past but it cannot work again in 2023.
He also opined that APC strategy is to divide people on various grounds, saying that now religion was being used but Nigerians must not fall for it.
