Unknown gunmen suspected to be bandits have reportedly killed a traditional leader, Alhaji Kogo Hamza Abdullahi in the Yankuzo Emirate of Zamfara State.
A resident who pleaded anonymity in a telephone interview with DRILLOGIST explained that the district head was ambushed and killed by the bandits while going back home from work on Friday.
“The bandits attacked his vehicles and shot him two times in an attempt to kidnap him,” he said.
According to sources from the community, the monarch was killed at around 8:30 pm.
“The terrorists could not kidnap him, they, therefore, killed him and ran away,” he said.
DAILY POST further gathered that the monarch was taken to Yariman Bakura Specialists Hospital in Gusau for urgent medical attention and later die at midnight.
