Protesting truck drivers on Tuesday blocked the Tureta border town between Sokoto and Zamfara States, causing serious traffic gridlock along the axis.

DRILLOGIST learnt that the drivers were protesting a misunderstanding between them and the military personnel on duty along the highway.

Most of the passengers were forced to trek for about 4 kilometers to cross the huddle, as hundreds of cars, trucks and other heavy duty vehicles were seen parked without movement.

The blockade was done in the presence of military personnel and other security operatives who were trying to arrest the situation.

Though the military personnel and security operatives did not torture anybody in the process of the blockage, they were making efforts to arrest the situation.
