Popular Mercy Johnson Okojie, a Nigerian actress, and producer who was recently diagnosed with cancer, has described her journey through life-saving treatment.
During the most recent episode of her YouTube culinary series, Mercy’s Menu, the actress opened up about a cancer scare that led to her physicians placing her on life-saving medication.
The actress went on to say that after undergoing surgery to remove her thyroid, a throat gland, she was put on stringent medication for the rest of her life.
Mercy added, “I had a cancer scare in the eighties, and I had like my thyroid removed. Speaking for the first time about her life-changing surgery and how she managed to beat cancer. And for my spouse and I, this was like a voyage since we had kids.
“My last baby was six months old when we found out, and I learned during the surgery that I would need to take medication for the rest of my life.” We had to accept that as a fact.
