Erik ten Hag has broken his silence on Phil Jones’ situation at Manchester United
Jones, who has been at the club since 2011, has not trained under Ten Hag since the former Ajax boss joined Man United in the summer.
The Red Devils longest-serving player has not been registered in the Premier League or Europa League squads for this season.
He signed his last deal in 2019 and the deal will expire in the summer of 2023.
Asked whether the Red Devils will release Jones, Ten Hag hinted at the defender’s departure.
He told Manchester United’s official website: “There has not been a decision taken about that, for the summer.
“The whole season he has been injured. I can’t say. What I can say is he is not available for training and hasn’t been since the first day of training this season. Then, the opportunity for you to recover quickly also goes.”
