Liverpool legend, Carragher has described Jorginho as being opposite to Arsenal’s style of football.
According to him, the Italy International could, however, be of a ‘big help’ to the Gunners towards the end of the season.
Jorginho joined Arsenal in a deal worth about £12m from London rivals, Chelsea on transfer deadline day.
The midfielder has signed an 18-month contract at the Emirates Stadium as Arteta was keen to add a new midfielder in January
Carragher admitted Jorginho does not share the ‘fast and energetic’ style of play.
“Jorginho is not the sort of style for Arsenal’s play, which is so quick, fast and energetic now and he is the opposite of that and I get that argument,” he told Sky Sports.
“So he is a top player, there is no doubt about that, but he is a different style of player.
“But I think that could be a big help for them towards the end of the season when they get nervous,” he added.
