The Dangote Group conducted its Special Day on Thursday at the 13th Gateway International Trade Fair, which is now taking place in Abeokuta, with a commitment to ensuring that Nigeria achieves self-sufficiency in all the economic sectors in which it operates.
The Dangote Group’s management has been praised by the Ogun State Government for its investments in the state, which have improved its economic situation.To commemorate the day, the company also invited members of the Ogun State Bricklayers and Block Molders Associations to a hands-on demonstration of how to properly use various cement grades.The company’s booth was a hive of activity as clients and visitors flocked to the pavilion to take advantage of the time to enquire about the process of registration.
The Special Day afforded the guests and customers to know more about Dangote products as each of the company’s subsidiaries showcased the strength, uniqueness of their products and kept the public abreast of recent developments within the Group.Speaking at the event, Regional Sales Director, Lagos/Ogun, Dangote Cement Plc, Mr. Dolapo Alli, said the Dangote Group as a pan-African conglomerate has adopted as its mantra Nigeria’s self-sufficiency in all sectors where the company operates.
He explained that the Group has been a reliable partner to many trade fairs across the country because the management believe that Chambers of Commerce & Industry occupy a unique position in driving economic development through their activities.He asserted that Dangote Industries Ltd views OGUNCCIMA as special because Ogun State has one of the highest concentrations of industries in Nigeria and acts as a conduit for the movement of people, goods, and services between Lagos, the country’s commercial hub, and other parts of Nigeria, as well as neighboring countries Benin Republic, Togo, and Ghana.

According to him, the company’s food subsidiaries, Dangote Sugar Refinery, NASCON Allied Industries (Dangote Salt) and Dangote Rice are providing jobs through various schemes saying Dangote Sugar Refinery, through its out-grower scheme has provided jobs to thousands of farmers in the host communities.He said, “The coming of Dangote Fertilizer has to a great extent helped to change the face of agriculture in Nigeria while the Dangote Petroleum Refinery, when functional will drive the development of ancillary industries which will utilise the byproducts as raw materials.”
Additionally, he mentioned that Dangote Sinotruck West Africa Ltd, its automotive business, was attending the trade show for the first time this year as a demonstration of its dedication to providing customers with a broad range of goods and services. He emphasized that Dangote Sinotrck assembles a wide range of commercial vehicles, including heavy duty trucks, medium trucks, light trucks, semi-trailers, and buses.”As the government concentrates on fostering economic development throughout the nation, the corporation seeks to fulfill anticipated rising demand of segments like logistics, construction, and the food and beverage industries. It has the potential to produce 10,000 trucks per year and is directly and indirectly supporting thousands of employment.”
