Bola Tinubu, the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has won his polling unit in Lagos state. He defeated Peter Obi of the Labour Party (LP) and Atiku Abubakar, the Peoples Democratic Party standard bearer (PDP), to win the unit.

In the polling unit situated at Ward 3, Alausa, Ikeja, the total number of accredited voters was 43. The APC presidential candidate polled 33 votes, Obi got eight votes while Atiku secured one vote.
Similarly, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, the governor of Lagos, also won his polling unit (Unit 006, Ward E3, Lagos Island) for Tinubu. In the governor’s unit, the APC presidential candidate secured 86 votes, PDP had three and LP polled five.
Obasanjo votes in Ogun commends the process
Former President, Olusegun Obasanjo has declared the 2023 Presidential and National Assembly elections in Ogun State smooth and credible. Obasanjo expressed his views while speaking with journalists after casting his vote in Abeokuta.

The former president who voted at about 10.32 am at Ward 11, Polling Unit 22, Olushomi Compound, Sokori area of Abeokuta-North, expressed satisfaction at the peaceful and orderly conduct of the election. He said, “I think we’re getting it through in elections in our country.
“One can see things that are encouraging and give hope for the future as far as the election is concerned because there are improvements. “I came in and I was checked. I was asked to remove my glasses and the gadget was placed before my face and my picture appeared.
EFCC officials and policemen force PUNCHman to delete photos
Some officials of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission sighted in a white bus outside Model Primary School, Elekahia Road, Port Harcourt, Rivers State, Saturday morning, forced a PUNCH correspondent to delete photos on his mobile phone.

The EFCC officials were with armed men of the Nigeria Police Force on the bus. When our correspondent was sighted taking photos, the livid security agents stormed out to challenge him and forced him to delete the photos. The PUNCH cannot immediately ascertain their mission whether it is to check vote-buying or not.
However, The PUNCH reports that a member of the House of Representatives, Chinyere Igwe, was arrested with a bundle of dollars along Ana Road, Port Harcourt, very on Friday morning. When contacted, the spokesperson for the state police command, Grace Iringe-Koko, condemned the action of the security agents.
Troops kill five hoodlums in Kaduna
The Troops of 1 Division, Nigerian Army, and Air Component of Operation Whirl Punch have neutralized five bandits and recovered 10 motorcycles in Kaduna State.

The Deputy Director of Army Public Relations, 1 Division, Nigerian Army, Lieutenant Colonel Musa Yahaya, in a statement on Friday, said the operation was conducted to create a conducive environment before, during,g and after the elections.
“The highly motivated troops of 1 Division, Nigerian Army, and the air component of Operation Whirl Punch dealt a heavy blow to bandits and other criminal elements in Kaduna State. “In the very aggressive fighting patrol that lasted over 48 hours, the troops successfully cleared Mando-Sabon Birni-Maidaro -Dogon Dawa, Galadimawa, Saulawa, Farin Ruwa and Polewire villages in Birnin Gawri and Chikun Local Government Areas in the state.
