Mrs. Aisha Buhari, the President’s wife, termed Senator Bola Tinubu’s win in the recently ended presidential election as the will of God on Thursday.
Aisha also expressed hope that Tinubu will not betray the trust that Nigerians have placed in him.
The First Lady spoke during a thank-you visit to the Presidential Villa in Abuja with the President-wife, elect’s Sen. Oluremi Tinubu, and the Vice President-wife, elect’s Hajiya Nana Shettima.
“Despite of our interests or differences, we should all embrace it as Almighty God’s decision; we could not have done it without his favor,” Aisha remarked.
“This is a win for all Nigerians,” he said. I am hopeful that the President-Elect would not violate the faith that Nigerians have placed in him. It is now time to move on and concentrate on the route of’renewed hope’ for Nigerian women and youths.
“Therefore, dear sister, we rely on your experience and enthusiasm for advancing the cause of women, youth, and girl-child education.”
“I pray that come May 29, your role as first lady will be marked with pleasure and continuous success,” she said.
On Wednesday morning, Tinubu was declared the victor of the February 25 presidential election.
He beat the main opposition candidates, Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party, Peter Obi of the Labour Party, and Rabiu Kwankwaso of the New Nigeria Peoples Party.
The former Lagos State governor received his Certificate of Return in Abuja on Wednesday.
