Shuaib Ganga, a former chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Arewa Solidarity Forum, and dozens of followers from Ogun State’s Sagamu Local Government Area have defected to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
Ganga revealed that they were weary with the PDP in the state and chose to join the governor’s moving train while bringing 15 chairmen and other members of the forum’s executives to the governor’s country residence.
Ganga stated that members of the forum were ready to support the governor for a second term, and that they would mobilize their kin in the local government to vote massively in favor of the governor.
“We are here to decamp from the PDP to the APC [while] also endorsing Your Excellency for another four-year term,” he stated.
Participants of the forum, who all talked in unison about their desire to wear the governor’s yellow, demonstrated their commitment by ripping the identity cards of their former political party.
The Ohanaeze Ndigbo Youths of Ogun State, led by Kingsley Chukwuleta, and members of the Igbo community have also put their support behind Dapo Abiodun’s bid for a second term.
Addressing, Chukwuleta stated that Igbo youths are proud of the governor’s accomplishments over the previous three and a half years and pledged their full support to the governor.
Governor Abiodun responded by thanking the Arewa Solidarity Forum and the Ohanaeze Ndigbo Youths of Ogun State for coming out in support of his second-term aspiration, adding he was humbled by their support and endorsement.
While assuring them that they would not be sorry for joining the state’s governing party, Abiodun asked them to go all out and canvass for votes for his re-election.
