Femi-Fani Kayode, an APC chieftain, has slammed US President Joseph Biden on social media for failing to congratulate Nigerian President-elect Bola Tinubu on his win in the recently ended presidential election.
According to DRILLOGIST, the US president has yet to call or send a congratulations message regarding the outcome of the February 25 elections.
Tinubu, the governing party’s nominee, was declared the victor of the allegedly rigged election.
Numerous foreign leaders have complimented the former governor of Lagos.
Nevertheless, Fani-Kayode, a former Aviation Minister who chastised Joe Biden on his verified Twitter handle on Tuesday night, stated that Biden’s inability to congratulate Tinubu does not constitute a failure on his part.
He did, however, mention that “both the US State Department and the American Ambassador to Nigeria congratulated Asiwaju,” and he asked Biden to add his voice by contacting Tinubu.
“Whether @JoeBiden phones to congratulate him or not, @officialABAT is the President-elect of Africa’s largest, wealthiest, most populous, advanced, and enlightened nation, as well as the Western world’s largest trading partner on the continent,” he tweeted. They require us just as much as we require them.
“Indeed, both the US State Department and the US Ambassador to Nigeria congratulated Asiwaju. We will be forever thankful for this, and it displays a degree of respect.
“But, it is now time for Joe to pick up the phone and offer his voice. We are a large country, and we deserve nothing less.”
