Tragedy struck Tuesday, as gunmen shot dead a commercial motorcyclist at Ogbaku market on Owerri- Onitsha Road in Owerri, Imo State.
the gunmen who were eight in number operated in a red sienna vehicle and came from the Oguta road.
An eyewitness, Kelechi Iwuagwa told our correspondent that the incident happened around 8am this morning.
He said the deceased, Anthony is from Obudagwa village in Agwa Autonomous Community , Oguta council area..

His words, “They were about eight in number. When they asked him to enter the car, he resisted, asking them to identify themselves before one of them got aggrieved and shot him on his leg.
“Two others got so angry after they told him three times but he insisted. Realizing that the deceased had attracted much attention, they came down and shot him in the chest before taking off.”
Also confirming the incident, the Secretary General of Ogbaku Youth Association, Justice Nwafor, said that the remains of the victims had been evacuated from the scene.
He also told our correspondent that the youth body had reported the incident to the Ogbaku Divisional police headquarters and that the deceased’s motorcycle had been taken to the police station.
The Police Public Relation Officer, PPRO, in the state, Micheal Abattam, had yet to respond to an inquiry concerning the incident.
