An undetermined number of persons are believed to be trapped after a three-story structure under construction in the Gwarinpa neighborhood of the Federal Capital Territory of Abuja fell on Thursday.In a statement confirming the news, DSP Josephine Adeh, the FCT Police Public Relations Officer, said that the command had made the required deployment to help with the rescue of casualties and the area’s general safety.She claimed that Sadiq Abubakar, the FCT Commissioner of Police, had gone to the location in person.She also claimed that during the visit, the CP gave officers of the command the assurance that they would provide all necessary support to guarantee that the rescue operations would be as simple as possible and to prevent hoodlums from exploiting the situation.”The CP also vowed the command’s cooperation to assist the building regulatory and investigative bodies’ tasks within the FCT.”He earlier described the situation as very regrettable, urged on the locals to maintain vigilance, and to report any suspicious movement to relevant authorities, including the police,” she concluded.
