According to reports, at least one police officer and two other people were abducted about 4 p.m. on Tuesday while traveling back from a burial ceremony at Ahume along the Naka-Makurdi route.
Apparently, the kidnappers transported their victims to an unspecified area before contacting their family and demanding N1.7 million, according to a source who corroborated the event on Wednesday.
Andrew Ayande, the head of the Gwer West local government, confirmed the occurrence on Wednesday and mentioned that the area had a history of violence.
He claimed that the incident took place on Tuesday.
“You know, we lost one notable local citizen the day before yesterday (Monday), and they took the body home the day before that (Tuesday). The hoodlums arrived “.
“A policeman and two others were kidnapped around Ahume at about 4 pm. The vehicle the victims were in has been taken to Naka police station.”
