Nollywood actress and politician, Caroline Danjuma Hutchins has revealed why she named her daughter after the great Queen Elizabeth II.
Caroline made this known while mourning the Queen who died yesterday, September 8th.
According to Caroline, the queen’s strength was one of the reasons she christened her daughter, Elizabeth.
A fan had faulted her for doing such. He questioned why she would do such knowing fully well that the Queen colonized her country and stole their lands and enslaved people.
“U named ur daughter after a woman who colonized your country stole from ur land and enslaved ur ppl???? OKAY”.
Firing back, Caroline Danjuma stated that it was her choice to do such. She pointed out how it is the same way people still name their kids after those who sold Nigeria out of greed.
“My choice…. same way people named their kids after those that sold Nigeria out of greed”.
Proving that she didn’t make mistake in her daughter’s choice of name, the proud mum celebrated her daughter’s new achievement.
The little star had emerged the class captain of her class.
Praising her, Caroline Danjuma applauded her for being responsible.
“Congratulations to the latest class captain in Lagos…my responsible baby girl Elizabeth. The Lord is good”.
Queen Elizabeth, Britain’s longest-reigning monarch and the nation’s figurehead for seven decades, died aged 96, Buckingham Palace said on Thursday.
“The Queen died peacefully at Balmoral this afternoon,” Buckingham Palace said in a statement.
“The King and The Queen Consort will remain at Balmoral this evening and return to London tomorrow.”
With this latest development, her eldest son Charles, 73, automatically becomes king of the United Kingdom and the head of state of 14 other realms, including Australia, Canada and New Zealand.
Her family had rushed to be by her side at her Scottish home, Balmoral Castle after doctors expressed concern about her health. She had been suffering from what Buckingham Palace has called “episodic mobility problems” since the end of last year, forcing her to withdraw from nearly all her public engagements.
Queen Elizabeth II was also the world’s oldest and longest-serving monarch.
