In collaboration with Gogetit, the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has started training 23,000 agents who would implement the adoption of the e-Naira in the rural areas of the 23 LGAs of Benue State.
Orkuma Hembe, the chief executive officer and managing director of Gogetit, stated over the weekend that the company was in Benue to inform locals on how to transition from the physical market to the digital economy.We want to train at least 100 persons for each local government, Hembe stated. As a result, we will train at least 100 agents in each of the 774 local governments around the country to act as an extension of the central bank by offering fundamental services to localities, markets, and communities and provide basic services on how to use the e-Naira and also transact the e-Naira.”
Hembe added that the participants included the motorcycle hirers association, agri-produce associations and the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW).
