Champions League: Guardiola reacts as Manchester City fail to beat Copenhagen

Manchester City boss, Pep Guardiola, has reacted to his side’s away Champions League 0-0 draw against Copenhagen on Tuesday.

Guardiola watched as Man City failed to beat Copenhagen at the Parken Stadium in Denmark.

Sergio Gomez received a straight red card on the half-hour mark for a foul after a VAR call as Man City had to play for 60 minutes with just 10 men in a game.

Rodri’s strike during the encounter was disallowed by VAR and the Premier League champions saw a first-half Riyad Mahrez penalty saved after yet another VAR call.

However, Man City are now through to the Champions League knockout stages after the result against Copenhagen.

Speaking at his post-match press conference, Guardiola said he was satisfied with the outcome of the game.

“(I am) Really satisfied – playing one hour 10 v 11 in Europe and not losing is really good,” Guardiola said.

“We are going to recover, prepare for the next games, go to Dortmund and try to get results there and against Sevilla, to finish first in the group stage.

“After the situations – goal disallowed, penalties, sending off – the game changed and especially playing 10 against 11 for an hour is so difficult, but we didn’t concede much.

“But the players gave absolutely everything – and, yeah, it’s a good point and we take it.”
