The round of 16 fixtures of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 has all been played. Netherlands, Argentina, France, Brazil, England, Morocco, Portugal and Croatia are the last eight teams left in the competition.
We saw a lot of excitement in the first phase of the knockout stages. Morocco knocking out Spain, Ronaldo getting benched, and Giroud becoming France’s all-time goalscorer were some of the highlights from the round of 16.
However, we shall also be looking at the three best players from the just-concluded round
1. Kylian Mbappe
PSG star Mbappe scored a brace in his side’s 3-0 victory over Poland. he is currently the highest goalscorer in the competition with five goals.
2. Yassine Bounou
Bono was the hero for Morocco in their fixture against Spain. The Sevilla goalkeeper saved two penalties to send the North Africans to the quarterfinals for the first time.
3. Dominik Livakovic
Livakovic is the shot-stopper for Croatia. The 27-year-old saved three penalties in the shootout against the Japanese.
