Wole Soyinka, the winner of the Nobel Prize, has called for a debate with Datti Baba-Ahmed, the vice presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP), according to Daniel Bwala, a spokesman for PDP presidential candidate Atiku Abubakar.
Despite the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, declaring Bola Tinubu the election’s victor, Datti claimed in an interview on March 22 that the nation had no president-elect.
Because the APC candidate “has not met requirements of the law,” Tinubu “would be leading an unconstitutional government” if sworn into office, according to Datti.
But according to Bwala, Soyinka should take on Chimamanda rather than Datti because he is not a politician.
Bwala tweeted: “I’ve been told Prof. Soyinka has asked to debate Datti. No, he ought to request a discussion with Chimamanda Adichie.
“This will be an unfair discussion because Datti is a politician and Soyinka is not.
But in the #Soyinkadebatechimamanda, both Soyinka and Chimamanda debate literature and grammar.
He will comprehend the concept that “nobody has the monopoly of knowledge” if he reads Chimamanda. It will undoubtedly involve David and Goliath.
