Egyptian Super Cup semi-final game decided after 34 penalty kicks

Modern Future football club secured a hard-fought victory over Pyramids FC in the Egyptian Super Cup semi-finals after a grueling penalty shootout that lasted for 34 kicks, with the final score standing at 14-13.

The match had ended in a goalless draw before the dramatic shootout. Modern Future will now advance to the final to face either Al Ahly or Ceramica Cleopatra. Despite missing three penalty kicks, they ultimately triumphed.

Pyramids FC suffered defeat after failing to convert their fourth penalty kick at Mohammed bin Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi. Osama Galal, a Pyramids defender, missed two crucial penalty kicks, including the one that decided the outcome.

While the shootout felt lengthy, it fell short of the 54 penalty kicks seen in the 2021 match between Washington FC and Bedlington Terriers in England, as well as the 48 penalties in a 2005 Namibian Cup match between KK Palace and Civics.
