Former Manchester United defender, Rio Ferdinand has warned Jorginho that he will not start for Arsenal.
Ferdinand, speaking on his Vibe with Five channel, also said the 31-year-old will be replaced by a big-money signing in the summer.
Jorginho completed a £12m move from Chelsea on Tuesday, ending his five-year stint at Stamford Bridge.
The Italy midfielder could make his Arsenal debut against Everton on Saturday.
However, Ferdinand does not expect Jorginho to make an instant impact at the Emirates.
In fact, Ferdinand believes he will likely be replaced in the summer when Arsenal are expected to revive their interest in Moises Caicedo and Declan Rice.
“I don’t see him being a starter for Arsenal, I’ve got to be honest.
“I don’t think Jorginho is a long-term signing. He’s a stop-gap and they will get a big midfielder in the summer,” Ferdinand said.
