Former Chelsea star, Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink, has given his verdict on Arsenal’s disallowed goal in the first half of their Premier League clash against Manchester United.
To add to the controversies surrounding officiating in the Premier League this weekend, Gabriel Martinelli’s efforts was disallowed the video assistant referee with Martin Odegaard adjudged to have vowed Christian Eriksen leading to the counter-attack that produced the goal.
Hasselbaink said that VAR intervention was ridiculous, insisting it was not foul.
“I think it’s ridiculous they go back. I don’t think it’s a foul. They’re saying they’re going to be more lenient,” he said on Sky Sports.
“Yes, there is contact, but Eriksen is just weaker than Odegaard and it’s a turnover of play.”
“He’s being weak and just falls on the floor.”
