Former Manchester United and Bayern Munich midfielder, Owen Hargreaves has questioned Kalidou Koulibaly and Lewis Hall for their roles in Newcastle United’s winning goal over Chelsea on Saturday.
Joe Willock’s second half strike was all the Magpies needed to secure another statement win over the Blues.
Miguel Almiron was surging in from the left between Hall and Koulibaly before Willock found an opportunity to hit the ball pass Edouard Mendy
The win took Newcastle United to the spot in the Premier League table and condemned Chelsea to eight place ahead of the FIFA World Cup break.
It also confirms that Graham Potter’s side are now into battle to finish top four this season and qualify for Champions League next year.
Hargreaves, while accessing the goal, noted that 18-year-old Hall, who started his first Premier League game for Chelsea, was guilty of ‘ball watching.’
The youngster watched on as Paraguayan Almiron broke in behind him and Koulibaly.
“Almiron gets a run on Hall, he’s just ball watching,” Hargreaves said on Premier League Productions.
“You just think, Koulibaly, you got to know your player. Don’t let him inside on his left foot. Make him go to the right,” he added.
