Gbemi Saraki, the Buhari administration’s Minister of State for Mines, has denied abandoning the All Progressives Congress, APC.
The former Senator from Kwara State said that her defection to the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, was false.
Bukola Saraki, a former governor of Kwara and Senate President, returned joined the PDP months before the 2019 general elections.
According to Moses Bello, the minister’s spokesperson, she is no longer in the opposition to support PDP gubernatorial candidate Shuaibu Yaman.
Saraki remembers working relentlessly to ensure that the state’s presidential election was won by President-elect Bola Tinubu.
She stated this notwithstanding her issues with the APC-led state government’s activities towards the late Olusola Saraki’s legacy.
“If anything, I am more devoted than ever to ensure the success of the new Asiwaju/Shettima administration on May 29,” the minister said.
Gbemi Saraki, according to Bello, is a grassroots mobilizer who stays loyal to President Buhari’s administration and the upcoming government.
