The Senator representing Taraba south senatorial district, Emmanuel Bwacha, has frowned at the alleged manner Governor Darius Dickson Ishaku’s administration has piloted the affairs of Taraba State.
Speaking on Wednesday with media practitioners in Jalingo, he expressed sadness that governance, under the present administration of the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the state “has been thrown into the dustbin”.
He alleged that the destruction so far created by Ishaku’s administration is so much and it is still counting.
He said, ”it is most devastating because I am aware that even infrastructures that are developed are now on the verge of being sold and the money taken by an individual because of his share greed and primitive accumulation.”
He called for an end to the many vices he alleged the incumbent state government has caused the state, and asked Tarabans, irrespective of religious, tribes and political affiliations to rise and halt further destruction of the state.
He said “We must have to stop the governance of the state from being reduced to a family business. We must restore the glory of the state’s finances, decency and good governance.”
“We did not start like this. I have the blessing of God to be among those who were involved in the civil regime in Taraba When the first civilian government was installed in 1992. I was also a player and I know it was not like this.
“In Taraba State now, our dear state, you will be in a tricycle (Keke NAPEP) and will not know that the rider is a Special Adviser to the Governor. This is truly unspeakable and unacceptable and shouldn’t be associated with a state that is craving for development”.
The senator who is the governorship candidate for the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state, also expressed dismay that the people of the state have been divided along religious and ethnic lines by the present state government.
“Taraba State which used to be a united state and more of a family in spite of its diverse ethnics and cultural groups is now going through an unimaginable destruction and disunity that requires serious prayers from every person to restore the glory of the state.” He said
