Kogi State Governor Yahaya Bello has issued a directive to freeze all state and local government accounts immediately.
The Commissioner for Finance, Asiwaju Asiru Idris, conveyed this announcement in Lokoja, the state capital, on Thursday.
According to the statement, no imprests or payments should be made from government accounts from now on.
Additionally, standing orders and investment instructions have been cancelled, and all Kogi State and Local Government accounts are now frozen as of Thursday, 22nd November 2003.
