How Davido’s mum rescued my son from swimming pool 25 years ago — Oba Abolarin spills

Oba Abolarin Adedokun, the Orangun of Oke-lla, in Ifedayo Local Government Area of Osun state, has penned a touching tribute in honor of late Davido’s son, Ifeanyi who drowned in a pool on Monday, October 31st, 2022.

In his tribute, the royal father, Oba Abolarin recounted how singer Davido’s mum, Veronica rescued his own son from a swimming pool 25 years ago.

“So sad, it was Davido’s mummy, late Dr. Mrs. Veronica Adeleke that rescued my own son inside the swimming pool, some twenty-five years ago. I am sad. What Veronica did for my son years back, nobody, I mean nobody to play that same role for Veronica’s grandson, Ifeanyi!” Oba Abolarin revealed.

He concluded by saying “Who are we to query God, may his soul rest in peace and may Veronica’s soul continue to rest in peace, fantastic woman!”

Meanwhile, Nigerian entertainers have sent condolences to Afro-pop star David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, and partner, Chioma Rowland over the death of their son Ifeanyi.

Kemi Filani reports that Ifeanyi drowned in a pool at Davido’s house in Banana Island, Lagos State.

The youngster was reportedly rushed to a nearby hospital after the incident, where he was confirmed dead.

Taking to their social media accounts, some of the celebrities expressed grief and condoled with the Adeleke family.

Actor Williams Uchemba wrote on Instagram: “I said I won’t believe anything on social media until I personally confirm myself. I prayed for it to be a lie. I am upset, pained and confused. Nobody deserves to feel this pain. “Please say a prayer for David, Chioma and the entire family. Nobody deserves this kind of pain. Rest up little one.”

Nigerian actor Muyiwa Ademola wrote: “It is one of the saddest things when kids are being buried by parents. We really wish it never happened! May The Almighty gives the parents and the entire Adeleke family the strength to bear this loss.

Actress Iyabo Ojo, posted: “I don’t even know how to react to this rude shock. I was hoping it wasn’t true. My God!!! This is so shocking, sad, devastating and extremely painful Olorun!!! Ikun le abiamo.”
