Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the Labour Party, has stated that he will challenge Bola Tinubu’s win in the February 25 presidential election.
Obi, when speaking on Arise TV on Monday, declared he was not interested in questioning the “result” of the election.
The former Anambra governor insisted on contesting the procedures that led to Tinubu’s election as president-elect by INEC.
“After my response to a question on Arise TV earlier today, I want to declare unequivocally that in the Presidential Elections Tribunal (PET), I am challenging both the INEC election process that resulted to Tinubu’s proclamation as president-elect and the announcement itself,” Obi tweeted.
On March 1, Tinubu was proclaimed the election winner.
Obi has subsequently gone to court, citing electoral commission violations.
As a result, the Appeal Court allowed permission to view all critical electoral materials.
