Islah Williams selects Kogi APM and ADC guber tickets

The Allied Peoples’ Movement (APM) has chosen Arch Dauda Isah to run for governor of Kogi State.

Isah, the party’s unanimous choice for flagbearer, received 69 votes to win the position.

APM Secretariat in Lokoja hosted the primary election, which was well guarded.

Oyadeji Ayodele Adebayo, the returning officer for the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), oversaw the election.

The APM flagbearer stated that the party is committed to saving Kogi State from poor governance in a statement made shortly after his victory.

He characterized the process as peaceful and expressed confidence that APM would win the Kogi State governorship election on November 11 and take control of Lugard House.

In a similar development, Dele Williams has emerged as yet another African Democratic Party, ADC, governorship contender for Kogi State.

As the ADC state chairman, Dele Williams was elected at a state congress under the direction of the Ogga Kingsley Temitope group.

Williams was formally introduced as the ADC governorship candidate by Hon. Kennedy Odion, the ADC Acting National Secretary, who served as the Returning Officer, after receiving the unanimous support of all delegates at the State Congress held at the Lilly Ground Hotel.

The electoral committee included Comr. Oba Ehigiator, the ADC FCT Chairman, and Don-Norman Obinna, the ADC Chairman for Abia State.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), which was present to oversee the governorship primary election, was also in attendance.

Speaking after his election, he promised to provide a leadership that would bring the benefits of democracy to the people’s doorsteps.

He committed to generating riches for the state’s citizens through empowerment and employment.

The ADC candidate pledged to overhaul the public education system, with particular focus on agriculture.

The ADC State Chairman, Ogga Kingsley Temitope, said in his remarks that the Congress went off without a hitch and expressed confidence that the ADC will win the next November governorship election by a wide margin.

It should be remembered that Hon. Leke Abejide won the ADC nomination for governor at the weekend’s congress held at Lokoja’s Kefas Multi-Purpose Hall.
