Joy as Eight Abducted Students From FULafia Finally Regains Freedom

Eight students from the Federal University of Lafia, Nasarawa State, who were abducted by unknown gunmen, have been released. The students, residing outside the campus, were kidnapped on December 6, 2023, during a gunmen attack on the Gandu community.

According to Spencer Jerry, a community leader in the Keana Local Government Area, the students were confirmed to be released and arrived in Kwarra village at around 8 pm on Sunday. Following their release, police operatives from the anti-kidnapping unit transferred the students to Lafia.

Abdullahi Mohammed, the District Head of Gandu community, situated opposite the university, also affirmed the students’ release. In addition, he appealed to the state government to ensure that security agencies thoroughly investigate, arrest, and prosecute those responsible for causing unrest in the university community and the state as a whole.
