The teenager, who was handed over to the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP) was intercepted by Immigration personnel on border patrol team at Koko border post, in a commercial bus coming from Ogun State to Sokoto through Kebbi State.
Briefing newsmen shortly after the handing over, the State Controller said after interrogating the victim, officials discovered that the 13-year-old girl gave out some contacts in Libya, which were very suspicious.

Nuhu assured that the agency would not fold its hands and allow people commit such crimes as it will arrest and prosecute anyone found in such act.
Responding, the NAPTIP representative from Sokoto office, Rilwan Mohammed Buhari, assured that the agency would investigate and unite the victim with her family.
The victim, Temitope Marvellous, in an interview with newsmen said, her grandmother whom she stayed with sent her to Sokoto as a househelp.
