Man Murders Wife for Refusing Him Sex in Adamawa

Aminu Mahdi, a former employee of the Adamawa State Universal Basic Education Board, has been detained on suspicion of killing his wife by abusing her.

Aminu, 63, of Yelwa Ward in the Mubi North Local Government Area, allegedly attacked Hadiza Zubuchi, 46, for refusing to give him access to her bed.

According to SP Suleiman Nguroje, the state police public relations officer, the suspect, who has admitted to the murder, informed the police that he did not plan for his wife to pass away.

In a conversation with newsmen late on Thursday, Nguroje revealed that Aminu had come home around 9:00 pm on Sunday, August 27, 2023, to confront the events that led to his wife’s death by suffocation.
Nguroje said after Aminu ate his food and changed his clothes, he went to the room he was to spend the night with his wife, but his wife denied him the use of her bed.

As the wife would not let him touch her and she instead started hitting him with a stick, he snatched the stick from her and beat her up repeatedly.

The beating became so severe that the wife, who he married in 2016, died eventually.

In regret while telling the police his story, Aminu said, “I didn’t expect that this kind of incident would happen to me. It was a mistake.”
