Isiaka Odeyemi and his wife, Feyisola Olapeju, had been married for 23 years until their marriage was dissolved on Thursday by an Ado-Ekiti Customary Court.According to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), the wife’s lack of rest and the marriage’s ongoing arguments stemmed from fetish threats and charms.Odeyemi said that his wife was occultic and had a strong fetish culture. He claimed that his wife practices alcohol and kola nut worship, which he disagreed with.He claims that his wife murdered their first kid and that the two children she bore him are unwell. The father of two children said that he had reason to believe that his kids were engaging in “Yahoo Yahoo,” or online fraud. He claimed that his wife did not allow him to have peace of mind and that they frequently quarreled.Odeyemi claimed that after an argument with his wife, he told her to pack her stuff but the kids yelled at him not to send their mother away. The plaintiff requested that the court separate them.Femi Odeyemi, a male child, age 22, and Taye Odeyemi, age 19, are their two blessed children. The respondent claimed that the complainant was her husband, that she consented to his marriage, and that she gave birth to their first child in Abeokuta at his request. When Feyisayo returned, she said that they had built a two-bedroom apartment together. She claimed that her husband supported her faith and that he took her to the Ifa temple every morning and picked her up every evening. She claimed she was instructed to worship Ifa, and she insisted that she did so in her room with her husband present.Feyisola claimed that she gave the object back to the owner and was instructed to worship it after her husband began complaining about the Ifa matter. She claimed to have given her husband some calm in the home, but he ignores her greetings.Although she claimed otherwise, she acknowledged that her kids are involved in internet scamming. The respondent claimed she had no family in Ado-Ekiti and had been pleading with the complainant so they could raise the kids together. The marriage was dissolved as a result of the court’s president, Mrs. Foluke Oyeleye, observing that the marriage had irretrievably broken down.Because the court could not separate what did not exist, Oyeleye ruled that both the complaint and respondent are free to act as they wish.Despite the fact that the couple had been living together for 23 years, the judge determined that the relationship did not meet the legal requirements for marriage. The judge declared that the parties were not married and allowed them to go their separate ways.
