On Tuesday, Mrs. Oluchi Chimobi Agha, the mother of four missing pupils from Great Ambassadors School in Umuahia, tearfully recounted how her children, including a set of twins, disappeared last week on their way to school. The heart-wrenching narration took place as the family welcomed Victor Ikeji, Chairman of Umuahia North LGA, at their residence in Umuagu Ibeku.
Oluchi explained that she entrusted her kids to a tricycle operator, known as Keke NAPEP, at 7 am last Monday to transport them to their school in Nwoegwu, Ohuhu. However, to her regret, the children never returned home at their expected closure hour of 3 pm.
Standing beside her husband, Mr. Chimobi Agha, Oluchi pleaded with the local government chairman, the police, other security agencies, and concerned Nigerians to assist in rescuing their children alive. Despite the distress, the couple expressed gratitude to the local government chairman and officials for showing a deep interest in their plight. They believed that, with the support and prayers of Abians and Nigerians, their children would be found.
During his visit, Umuahia North LGA Chairman Victor Ikeji assured the couple that his Council, in collaboration with the police and other security agencies in the state, was actively engaged in efforts to rescue the missing children. Accompanied by the Divisional Police Officer of Ohuhu Police division, Mr. Jack Robin, and other officials, Ikeji urged various security agencies in the state to intensify their efforts in rescuing the children. He also informed them that Governor Alex Otti had been notified of the unfortunate incident and issued a warning to criminals in Umuahia North to reform or face consequences
