Napoli doctor, Raffaele Canonico has revealed that Victor Osimhen is still a few weeks away from stepping onto the pitch again.
Osimhen suffered a second degree hamstring injury in Napoli’s 4-1 win against Liverpool this month.
The 23-year-old has been sidelined since the UEFA Champions League clash.
The Partenopei have done well in his absence, with two wins and a draw from the games against Spezia, Rangers and AC Milan.
“Pace is one of his peculiar characteristics. We are talking of an athlete whose top speed sprint is 34/35 Km/h. To reach that and to achieve specific standards he must be well trained,” Canonico told Radio Kiss Kiss as quoted by Calcionapoli1926.it.
“In general, the recovery time for these sorts of injuries is five weeks, so the week of the Cremonese clash is crucial,” he said.
Osimhen is now expected to miss Napoli’s next two games against Torino and Ajax Amsterdam.
