Native Doctor On the Run After Shooting Man To Death

Bauchi State Police Command is actively pursuing Danladi Ya’u, a native doctor from Damaiwa village, Bursali ward, Zaki LGA, after he fatally shot Muhammadu Murtala Ali to test a supposed bulletproof charm. The incident occurred during an outing to Damaiwa bush, where Ya’u, aged 28, and three accomplices (currently at large) intended to experiment with a gun medicine.

According to SP Ahmed Mohammed Wakil, the Bauchi Police Command’s spokesperson, the tragic event unfolded on October 31, 2023, at approximately 08:30 hrs. Danladi Ya’u shot Muhammadu Murtala Ali, aged 43, with a locally made gun, resulting in Ali’s unfortunate death. Following the report, detectives, led by the DPO Zaki, swiftly responded, transporting the victim to General Hospital Jakusko, Yobe State, where a medical doctor certified him dead.

Two suspects were promptly apprehended, with ongoing efforts to locate and capture the remaining accomplices. The investigation is in progress, and upon its completion, the defendants will face charges in court.
