The Commissioner for Health and Human Services in Ekiti State, Dr Oyebanji Filani has assured the leadership of the Nigerian Medical Association (NMA) in the state that the state governor, Abiodun Abayomi Oyebanji would abolish pay disparities which have been part of the reason for the brain drain syndrome among the medical professionals.
The Commissioner stated this when the NMA-led members of the SOC and affiliate heads paid a courtesy visit to his office on November 9, 2022.
The Chairman of NMA in Ekiti State, Dr Babatunde Rosiji presented the challenges militating against healthcare delivery in the state. He also noted that the health system in the state needs urgent action to save it from total collapse.
Responding, the Commissioner appreciated members of NMA for their support even at this critical time.
While noting that the brain drain syndrome is a global problem, he avowed that Ekiti will work out the modalities to face the challenges headlong.
He further promised to work with the data given to him to project the challenges to Governor Oyebanji for approval of possible solutions.
