Ogun;So Safe Corps Detains Two Motorbike Snatchers

In Ogun State, the So-Safe Corps reported that it had detained two “notorious motorbike snatchers.”

This was said in a statement released by the corps’ State Commander, Soji Ganzallo, and provided to journalists by the corps’ spokesperson, Moruf Yusuf.

Ganzallo claims that on June 30, 2023, around 11 a.m., a Mr. Lawal Kazeem claimed that his motorcycle, bearing the registration number JBD 933 VZ, had been stolen from his farmland in Abapawa, Ijebu-Ode Local Government Area of the state.

Ganzallo reported that on July 19, two middle-aged men, Okechukwu Eze, 28, and Okoro Ogudu, 25, both of Ibadan, Oyo State, were seen in the area where the stolen motorcycle had been kept on the day it was taken.

Since there was where agricultural workers typically parked their bikes, they had gone back there to take another bike.

One of the accused allegedly pulled out a cutlass, and the witness fled for his life.

The officers sprang into action as soon as the Itoro So-Safe office was alerted to save the victim.

The Ijebu-Ode Zonal Command team, under the direction of Marcus Ayankoya, as a result, responded and detained the accused the motor bike.

The victim was able to recognize the suspects during the preliminary investigation as the same people who escaped the scene of the event in June, according to Ganzallo.

He continued by saying that the suspects had been found to be in possession of two liters of gasoline, two cutlasses, different mechanical equipment, one motorcycle key, and both infant and adult clothing.

The suspects and the recovered objects had been given to the Omu police for additional investigation and legal action.
