Ladi Illiya, the Labour Party’s (LP) acting national chairman, has denied rumors that the party is now experiencing a leadership crisis.
At the party’s national secretariat in Abuja on Wednesday, she made this statement while speaking to the media about the situation in the LP.
The fabricated rumblings inside the party’s ranks, according to Illiya, were caused by people who didn’t wish the party well.
“Those who are assembling in Bauchi in an effort to hold a fake, illegal National Executive Council meeting do not represent our party,” she claimed.
“About two weeks ago, we convened our genuine, constitutionally permitted NEC meeting in Asaba. Who are the NEC members in Bauchi if we have all the state chairmen and secretaries from the 36 states and Abuja present at this meeting?
