Parents of Kidnapped Youth Coppers Plead For Government Intervention

Parents whose children were abducted along Zamfara Highway on August 17, 2023, while en route to the Sokoto State Orientation Camp for the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) scheme, are once again pleading for assistance from the Federal and Akwa Ibom state governments to secure the release of the victims.

After a brief meeting in Uyo, some affected parents expressed their lack of confidence in security agencies, citing concerns about the efforts to rescue the prospective corps members three months post-kidnapping in Zamfara Forest.

Amidst the urgency of the situation, it was revealed that some parents and family members were unable to attend the Uyo meeting due to shock over the deteriorating health conditions of the children still in captivity. The plea for swift intervention and support to rescue the abducted children echoes the desperation and helplessness felt by the affected parents.
