The Delta State Police Command’s Anti-Cult Unit, SACU led by SP Christopher Igbaji has arrested a fifty-eight-year-old suspected gun manufacturer, Peter Okolie and nine (9) others from Agba Quarters Emuhu in Ika North East Local Government Area of Delta State.
The Police also recovered from the suspects, forty-two (42) locally made single barrel guns, six (6) double barrel guns, three (3) pump action guns, two (2) filing machines, and a toolbox containing fabricated materials and working tools.
The arrest of the suspects was based on credible intelligence received by the Delta State Police Command of a syndicate specialized in manufacturing locally made guns.
The Delta State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Bright Edafe confirmed the report in a statement signed and made available to DRILOGIST.
DSP Edafe noted that Commissioner of Police, CP Ari Muhammed Ali detailed the SACU team which carried out intensive raids on criminal hideouts in the area and recovered the guns.
DSP Edafe said, “the exhibits were in custody and an investigation is ongoing.”
“He advised all to continue to partner with the Command by giving useful, timely and credible information that will help the Command to nip crime in the bud.”
