Former House of Representatives Speaker, Yakubu Dogara had declared the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar as the best option.
The politician and legal practitioner aired his opinion in a post Wednesday night on Twitter.
Dogara admitted the former Vice President isn’t perfect, stressing that those imperfect mostly get leadership responsibilities.
“I am acutely aware that @atiku is not perfect but note that throughout history, the task of building nations have always fallen on the shoulders of imperfect men & women.
“My only point is that the best of us must not be led by the worst of us. @atiku remains the best,” he tweeted.
The 55-year-old Bauchi native served as the lawmaker for Bogoro/Dass/Tafawa Balewa federal constituency from 2007 till 2019.
Dogara defected to the PDP from the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, after the presidential candidate Bola Tinubu picked Senator Kashim Shettima as his running mate.
The Muslim-Muslim ticket was opposed by the Christian community in the APC, including Dogara, ex-Secretary to the Government of the Federation Government, Babachir Lawal, Senator Elisah Abbo, among others.
