The Ooni welcomes son
In 2020, the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, had welcomed his first son from his now ex-wife, Olori Silekunola, and he was super excited about it!
Announcing the good news on his Instagram page, the then 45-year-old monarch wrote
“To God be the glory great things he has done. Hearty congratulations to the entire House of Oduduwa and Olori Silekunola who today birthed a Prince to the Royal throne of Oduduwa. Mother and child are doing well to the glory of God Almighty.”
Sticking to their culture, the Prince was named 8days after his birth.
The birth of the prince was greeted by three phasses of 21day traditional rites according to the dictates of Yoruba cutoms before it was rounded off within the premises of Ile Oodua Palace of the Ooni.
