Mr Adeniyi Adegbonmire, Senator-elect, Ondo Central Senatorial District, has implored voters to take the House of Assembly election in the state more seriously.
Reacting to the House of Assembly election in the state on Saturday, the All Progressives Congress (APC) senator-elect decried the low turnout of voters during the electoral exerci
Adegbonmire told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Saturday that: “The election is going on smoothly, even though the turnout is very low.
“I must say the reason for the low turnout is that people believe that there is no gubernatorial election in the state, and this is not supposed to be.
“People are not taking the House of Assembly election as seriously as the presidential and National Assembly elections, which witnessed great and large turnout in the state.”
Adegbonmire, who commended the security agencies, especially NSCDC, for their professional conduct, said that there were no complaints so far from any quarters across the state concerning the election.
“NSCDC, and other security agencies, have discharged their duties as expected because nobody has complained about anything either in my constituency or other places in the state.
“We may have different political party inclinations, but that doesn’t stop us relating as brothers and sisters because we are still joyful friends.
