Next Thursday, Manchester United will have the difficult challenge of defeating one of Europe’s top clubs.
The Europa League round of 32 match’s second leg would be played at Old Trafford after the Red Devils earned a 2-2 draw at Camp Nou.
Due to their respective suspensions, Lisandro Martinez and Marcel Sabitzer were absent from Erik ten Hag’s team during the first leg. In the second leg, both players would be eligible for selection.
Scott McTominay, a midfielder from Scotland who had been sidelined with an injury, would also be available for selection for the Red Devils after coming off the bench in the team’s 3-0 victory over Leicester City.
In the game, Erik ten Hag rested Raphaël Varane while he started Lisandro Martinez. This is an indication of his centre-back pairing for the game against Barcelona.
After serving his suspension, Sabitzer will probably play with Casemiro in midfield.
The Red Devils could use the following two lineups against Barcelona
1.Manchester United might select Wout Weghorst for the front line. Jadon Sancho, who scored against Leicester City, and Marcus Rashford, who scored his 23rd goal of the season against Leicester City, would be the Dutchman’s flankers.
Luke Shaw would play his preferred left-back position once again with Raphael Varane and Lisandro Martinez at center back, and Diogo Dalot would start in place of Aaron Wan-Bissaka at right back.
2.Erik ten Hag may decide to use Bruno Fernandes in a similar position to how his squad set up against Barcelona last Thursday.
Marcus Rashford would be leading the line while Jadon Sancho would play as the left-winger. Wout Weghorst would feature in the number ten role and would be required to drop deep to assist Casemiro and Sabitzer in the centre.
