Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, the president-elect, and Mr. Peter Obi both congratulate Israel Adesanya on reclaiming his UFC middleweight belt title in the Ultimate Fighting Championship 287.
On April 9th, the professional MMA fighter knocked out his opponent, Alex Pereira, to capture the UFC middleweight crown.
Tinubu praises the fighter in a Twitter post for not giving up hope despite previous attempts to capture the crown.
“Congratulations to Israel Adesanya on recovering the UFC Middleweight Championship as #stylebender.” He never lost faith in himself, and we never lost faith in him. “#NaijaProud,” he said.
Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s presidential candidate, also turned to Twitter to express his best wishes to Adesanya.
“By decisively knocking out his opponent and regaining his UFC Middleweight Title last night, Israel Adesanya @stylebender proved that persistence is the path to reclamation. Congratulations valiant Champion!… – PO,” he noted.
